About us
Wine Destination
heteroclito is the wine destination in the historic center of Athens. It was created in 2012, wishing to highlight, with simplicity, the native varieties of vine and the wealth of Greek land.
It was quickly recognized by international wine magazines and opinion makers mainly from the US and Canada, so it is a reference point for wine in the capital. You will find more than 200 Greek labels in the list of heteroclito, with emphasis on wines where mild methods of cultivation and winemaking (natural wines) were followed. Suggestions for wines’ glasses, are changed on the 1st day of each month.
Our Team
After 20 years of organizing international exhibitions, conferences and important corporate events, Madeleine and Dimitris decided to evolve their passion for wine and create the bar à vin heteroclito. They were framed by young, ambitious collaborators – oenologists and wine students – and they have created a solid team with knowledge and vision for the Greek Wine Nameday. They constantly travel inside Greece and abroad, to get to know people and places that produce wine. They do not stop discovering “wine treasures,” which they often include into heteroclito choices.
In recent years, Dimitris is LiFO’s partner for articles having to do with wine and editor in the Inoohoos of Kathimerini.
Activities
In heteroclito, knowledge is a priority, so during the parse of time, a variety of tasting and wine theme events are organized, inspired by ideas from every part of the world.
At the same time, the group of heteroclito – in the standard of the French term “négociant” – selects or creates wines from all over Greece, wines which have been produced experimentally by the winemakers or produced on its behalf, with oenological supervision and guidance. With strategic partners in marketing, branding and communication, they provide targeted suggestions to new winemakers for products to be released.
Finally, they have created and continue to create, wine lists for restaurants and hotels, with flexibility and constant monitoring of their sales flow.
